THPD: Arrest made after stabbing incident on S. 18th Street Monday evening

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The Terre Haute Police Department reports an arrest was made after a stabbing incident on Monday evening.

Police were called to the 1600 block of S. 18th Street in Terre Haute around 5:30 Monday evening.

The male victim was found with a stab wound to the neck area. Terre Haute Police PIO Ryan Adamson states the suspect was arrested within 10 minutes of the incident.

Police arrested James Newman, 55  of Terre Haute, for aggravated battery, residential entry, intimidation and battery with a deadly weapon. He is scheudled to appear in Division 6 at the Vigo County Courthouse Tuesday.

The victim who suffered the stab wound refused medical treatment at the scene on Monday evening.
