CORY, Ind. (WTHI) – It’s not every day that a birthday girl would request dog food at her birthday party!
That’s what 9-year-old Kyndel Murphy wished for.
Instead of asking for a new bicycle or dolls, Murphy requested pet supplies as gifts. The aspiring veterinarian wanted to pay it forward by donating supplies she received to animal shelters.
As you can surely guess, Kyndel has a soft spot for animals.
“I love dogs and cats and I love animals,” she said, “So I decided to donate to the Terre Haute Humane Society.”
Her family says in all, Kyndel collected more than 200 pounds of food as well as lots of toys, treats and more. They say the items will be divided between the Terre Haute Humane Society and For Paws Sake Canine Rescue in Brazil, Indiana.
