TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) – WTHI-TV is pleased to announce the promotion of Rondrell Moore to early and late evening news anchor. The Terre Haute native will join Patrece Dayton, Kevin Orpurt and Rick Semmler on the Wabash Valley’s most watched newscasts beginning Monday, July 25th.
“I am incredibly humbled and honored to be selected for this role,” Moore said of the promotion. “I’ve grown up watching WTHI-TV lead the way for years. Now, to help continue that very prestigious legacy, right next to those I’ve always admired, is nothing short of a dream come true. I look forward to spending my nights, sharing what really matters with our wonderful viewers.” Moore began his journey with WTHI-TV nine years ago as an intern. Upon graduation from Indiana State University, he joined the newsroom full-time as a content producer for wthitv.com before being promoted to an on-air reporter/producer. In 2010, he began working the beat as a night-side reporter and, two years later, took a seat at the weekend anchor desk. In 2014, Moore began waking up with the Wabash Valley on News 10 This Morning as well as anchoring News 10 Mid-Day.
“There’s no doubt Rondrell is and has been invested in WTHI-TV and this community since joining our news team,” news director Susan Dinkel said of Moore. “He has made tremendous strides in his career and we only see him growing stronger as a journalist and as a community leader.” Todd Weber, WTHI-TV vice president and general manager added, “I couldn’t be happier for Rondrell. His work ethic and dedication have made him one of our newsroom leaders. I have no doubt he will continue to lead us to even greater success for many years to come.”
