I was fortunate to live across the street from a retired teacher and she would see me in the backyard lining up my stuffed animals, and neighborhood children I could get and she told my mother then, she needs to be a teacher.
Mrs. Holmes was a high school teacher that I so admired, in fact I nominated her for this award when she retired my senior year.
Franklin Elementary school is like a big family honestly, we are all so dedicated not only to the students but to each other. We help each other out, we have the hardest working principal that I have known.
“No one is more deserving than Mrs. Soderling,” stated Melissa Pancake, principal. “She’s a wonderful person, caring, thoughtful, even though she’s taught for 21 years she continues to stay updated in her profession.”
I try to make the students still enjoy school at third grade, you know make sure that even though they are struggling it’s okay you know that it can be tough but we can rise to that challenge.
I want them to see me as a caring person but also someone who won’t take less than their best.
